Two private clients take to the skies....
Two Leeds lawyers are taking to the skies to complete a 15,000ft skydive in aid of St Gemma’s Hospice.
Helen Gott and Stephanie Dunderdale, both associates at Clarion, will be taking the leap of faith on Saturday 3 March at an airfield in North Lincolnshire. The 15,000ft skydive is the highest possible in the UK and includes a one minute free fall reaching speeds of up to 120mph.
Clarion partner Sara Rogers is a trustee at St Gemma’s Hospice and the firm supports the charity with a number of events including an annual sports dinner and quiz, and initiatives including “Make a Will for Free” months.
Stephanie Dunderdale commented: “The hospice supports people of all backgrounds and faiths in the Yorkshire area and it is not only patients but their families as well who benefit. We have had the privilege to visit the hospice numerous times and it is a truly inspiring place which provides first class care and support for residents.”
Helen Gott commented: “We already do a lot of work at St Gemma’s with the free will initiative and have seen firsthand the key role they play. The hospice does incredible things everyday so when they gave us the opportunity to fundraise by taking part in a skydive, we couldn’t refuse.
“The jump is the highest possible in the UK and we will need oxygen masks in the airplane to reach the full height. Everyone at Clarion has been very supportive, although they do think we are a bit crazy. Neither of us has done anything similar to this before.
“I’m sure we will have a sleepless night the night before, but this is a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget and it’s great to be doing it for such a worthwhile charity that supports so many local families.”
